Build your own Amazon tools on SellerMate’s API

Every account, every metric and every action your team uses in SellerMate, available to the dashboards, reports, alerts and agents you build yourself. One key covers Amazon Ads, DSP, AMC, Seller Central and Vendor Central. No Amazon API approvals, no data plumbing.

Any workspace admin can create a key in under a minute. Read-only keys available.

Paste this into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Read https://www.sellermate.ai/api-docs — it documents the SellerMate Public API (REST, API-key auth; every tool and its parameters are on that page).

Help me build: [describe your tool — e.g. a weekly ACoS report per client, posted to Slack every Monday].

Call get_user_context first to list my Amazon accounts, then use the reporting tools. My key is in the SELLERMATE_API_KEY environment variable — send it as the X-API-Key header and never hard-code it.

Works because the docs page lists all 76 tools with their parameters in plain HTML, so your assistant reads it in one go. Prefer the raw spec? openapi.json.

What teams build

The tools you’ve been meaning to build, in an afternoon

The hard part of an internal Amazon tool was never the UI. It was getting clean, current data for every account. That part is done.

Client dashboards

A branded page per client with spend, sales, ACoS and what changed this week — no SellerMate login needed.

get_campaign_performanceget_marketplace_summary

Alerts in Slack or WhatsApp

Ping the team the moment a campaign crosses an ACoS line or a hero product is about to run out.

get_fired_alertsget_inventory

Google Sheets that refresh themselves

Search terms, placements and SQP data landing daily in the sheet your team already lives in.

get_search_term_performanceget_sqp_report

Your own AI agent

An assistant that reads live account data, proposes negatives and bid changes, and applies what your guardrails allow.

list_recommendationsadd_negative_keywords

Bulk operations

Budget, bid and state changes across every account in one run, policy-checked, up to 50 items a call.

update_campaignupdate_target

A warehouse feed

Every account’s performance and orders into BigQuery or Snowflake for the BI you already run.

get_advertised_product_performanceget_orders_report

What’s in the API

Everything SellerMate can see or do, as 76 tools

The same engine behind the SellerMate app and its AI agent. Every tool is called the same way, POST /public/v1/tools/{name} with a JSON body, so your assistant only has to learn one pattern.

Other

1 tool

Everything else.

list_harvesting_mappings

R read tools cover analytics, reports and inventory. W write tools change campaigns, targets, negatives, automations and AMC audiences. A key can be limited to read only.

How it works

Three steps, and the second one is a paste

1

Create a key

In SellerMate, open Profile → API Keys. Choose read-only or read-and-write, and optionally restrict it to specific Amazon accounts. The key is shown once, so store it as SELLERMATE_API_KEY.

2

Give your AI the docs

Paste the prompt from the top of this page into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or whatever you build with, and describe the tool you want. The model reads /api-docs and writes the code.

3

Ship it

Run it wherever you like: a Vercel app, a cron job, a Google Apps Script, a Zapier step. Every call is key-authenticated, permission-checked and logged.

The first call your assistant will make

1curl -s -X POST https://api.sellermate.ai/public/v1/tools/get_user_context \
2 -H "X-API-Key: $SELLERMATE_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{}'

It returns your workspace and every Amazon account the key can use. Everything else takes an amazon_account_id from that list.

Built for agencies

A junior can’t nuke a budget

The API inherits the controls your admin already set in SellerMate, so handing it to a builder is not handing them the keys to every account.

Guardrails on every write

Budget and bid limits, never-pause and never-archive lists, ACoS guards. A blocked write returns 422 and nothing reaches Amazon.

Keys scoped to accounts

Limit a key to one client’s accounts, or to read only. Revoke it and it stops on the next call.

Audit-logged

Every call is recorded against the key that made it, the same log your team sees for the app and the AI agent.

Rate-limited, not metered

120 requests a minute per key, with a Retry-After header when you hit it. No per-call pricing to forecast.

FAQ

Questions builders ask

Something else? Ask us, or try a call in the interactive reference.

Do I need my own Amazon Ads API or SP-API approval?

No. SellerMate already holds the Amazon Ads, Seller Central and Vendor Central connections for every account in your workspace. You call SellerMate with one key and get all of them.

What does the API cost?

Nothing extra. It’s included in every SellerMate plan, with a default limit of 120 requests per minute per key.

Who can create a key?

Any workspace admin, from Profile → API Keys in the SellerMate app. Keys can be read-only, limited to specific Amazon accounts, and revoked at any time.

I’m not a developer. Can I still use it?

That’s who this is for. Copy the prompt at the top of this page into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and describe the tool you want. The documentation page is written so a model can read every tool and parameter in one fetch.

How is this different from SellerMate’s MCP?

MCP connects your AI chat (Claude, ChatGPT) to your data for conversations. The API is for software you build and run yourself: dashboards, syncs, alerts, agents. Many teams use both.

Can the API change something it shouldn’t?

Every write passes your workspace guardrails: budget and bid limits, never-pause and never-archive lists, ACoS guards. A write that clears them applies immediately; one that doesn’t returns 422 and nothing is sent to Amazon. Every call is audit-logged.

Does it cover DSP, AMC and Vendor Central?

Yes. Sponsored Ads, Amazon DSP, Amazon Marketing Cloud audiences and reports, Seller Central retail and inventory data, and Vendor Central sales and inventory.
